Seven Traveller men who work in the area of health in different Traveller organisations across the eastern region took part in a ‘Train the Trainers’ programme in sexual health.
The training was called ‘Lets Talk…..About Safer Sex” and was run by HIV Ireland and funded by St. Stephen’s Green Trust. This training was aimed at Traveller men as sexual health was noted as a priority in the Traveller Health Unit strategic plan.
The training took part over four full days done over a four week period. There are now seven Traveller men trained up to deliver the training to other Traveller men.
