On March 26th, Pavee Point and the Department of Applied Social Studies at the National University of Ireland Maynooth hosted a seminar on Ethnic Data supported by the Department of Justice and Equality.
The seminar focused on the use of ethnic data to combat discrimination and featured speaker Patrick Simon, author of the Council of Europe Report on Ethnic Statistics and Data Protection, who spoke about Antiracism, Ethnic Statistics and Data Protection in Europe.
Also speaking at the event were Ronnie Fay, Co Director of Pavee Point, Garret O Neil, Legal Advisor at the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner and Des Hogan, Acting Chief of the Irish Human Rights Commission.
