National Strategy for Women and Girls

The involvement of Traveller and Roma women in the National Strategy for Women and Girls (2016-2021) is of paramount importance.

Recognising the unique challenges and intersectional discrimination faced by Traveller and Roma women, the strategy places an emphasis on inclusivity and equal representation.

Actions specific to Traveller and Roma women aim to address issues such as education, accommodation, employment, health and political participation. Pavee Point and the National Traveller Women’s Forum share a seat on the monitoring committee to ensure that both Traveller and Roma women’s voices are heard.
