Pavee Point is a member of the Traveller Health Unit in the Eastern Region, a unit within the Health Service Executive.
Traveller Health Unit Eastern Region
Terms of Reference
(1) Monitoring the delivery of health services to Travellers and setting regional targets against which performance can be delivered;
(2) Ensuring that Traveller health is given prominence on the agenda of the Health Service Executive;
(3) Ensuring co-ordination and liaison within the Health Service Executive, and between the Health Service Executive and other statutory and voluntary bodies, in relation to the health situation of Travellers;
(4) Collection of data on Traveller health and utilisation of health services;
(5) Ensuring appropriate training of health service providers in terms of their understanding of and relationship with Travellers;
(6) Supporting the development of Traveller-specific services, either directly by the Health Service Executive or, indirectly, through funding appropriate voluntary organisations.
