Tullamore Traveller Movement are pleased to announce the launch of their resource pack titled Travel With Travellers.
Travel with Travellers is a pack which was developed by members of the Culture working group and began as a project to document traditional stopping places in Offaly. Out of this Travel with Travellers grew and the resulting pack contains stories, history, songs, Crosswords, some of which is in CANT Traveller Language. The pack is available to schools, youth and adult groups who are interested in learning about Traveller culture.
TTM would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who were involved in the project without their energy and commitment we would never have gotten to this point .
The pack is being launched on Thursday the 7th of December at 6pm in Tullamore Traveller Movement's office by Molly Buckley. It is apt that the launch is taking place this week as from the 4th to the 9th of Dec is Traveller focus week. The week focuses on Traveller participation in cultural and public life in Irish society. It will provide an opportunity to document and celebrate Travellers contribution to Irish music and art. Traveller focus week is organised by Pavee Point Traveller Centre, The Irish Traveller Movement, and The National Traveller Women's Forum.
